Last weekend around 40 South Korean sites, including the Presidential, Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry websites, faced a sophisticated DDOS attack with malicious payloads. The command and control (C&C) servers are set on two layers spread over more than 10 countries. Also, it has a self destruction routine that can render the infected system unbootable by overwritting the MBR sectors with zero’s.  This will happen in maximum 10 days from when the system gets infected or if the system clock has been tampered with.
